Prostate Medication Uroxatral from (alfuzosin HCl extended-release tablets) is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Uroxatral (alfuzosin HCl extended-release tablets) is not indicated for the treatment of hypertension.

In many men, the prostate begins to grow when they are in their 50s and usually continues to grow throughout the rest of their lives. As the prostate grows, it puts pressure on the urethra. As pressure builds, it may lead to bothersome urinary symptoms and future complications. This condition is known as enlarged prostate, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and is a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate. Although enlarged prostate is not life threatening, it does require long-term management by both you and your doctor. Uroxatral side effects like Postural hypotension with or without symptoms (e.g., dizziness) may develop within a few hours following administration of Uroxatral Prostate Medication (alfuzosin HCl extended-release tablets). As with other alpha-blockers, there is a potential for syncope. Patients should be warned of the possible occurrence of such Uroxatral side effects and should avoid situations where injury could result should syncope
occur. Care should be taken when UROXATRAL is administered to patients with symptomatic hypotension or patients who have had a hypotensive response to other medications otherwise it may result in Uroxatral side effects.
The recommended dosage is one 10 mg Uroxatral Prostate Medication (alfuzosin HCl extended-release tablets) tablet daily to be taken immediately after the same meal each day. The tablets should not be chewed or crushed.
